DATE CHANGE- A Guided Tour of Hokum Rock Farm

PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE CHANGED THE DATE OF THIS WALK DUE TO IMPENDING HEAVY RAIN

Location: Hokum Rock Farm located at the corner of Hokum Rock Rd & Rte. 134, East Dennis, MA. Approx. #1213 on GPS.

Attendees will receive a guided tour by the growers at Hokum Rock Farm.

Stephen Spear is a conservation specialist on Cape Cod with the Natural Resources Conservation Service office of the USDA, advising local farmers, towns, and land trusts on environmental issues. He holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in Soil Science, and a BA from the University of Utah, in Literature. He established Hokum Rock Farm in 1973 with his parents on family land in East Dennis and it has been in continuous operation for forty-five years.

Janice Riley is a writer, photographer, and web-master. She worked as a documentarian and editor for PBS, The Christian Science Monitor, and Riley Films. In 2004, she worked with local writer John Hay to create the documentary, John Hay’s The Run, A Journey That Never Ends. An avid gardener and amateur naturalist, she holds a BA from Wellesley College, with a degree in Cultural Anthropology.

Today Steve and Janice run Hokum Rock Farm together.
