SUMMARY:Winter Tree and Shrub ID Walk with Tom Walker
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, March 22nd at 10:00am at Flax Pond along Setucket Rd for a Winter Tree and Shrub ID Walk with Tom Walker! \nTom Walker is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst with a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology. He spent several seasons surveying wildlife on the west coast for the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management prior to returning to New England. He has many natural history interests and has led walks and given presentations on lichens\, fungi\, bryophytes\, woody plants\, and dragonflies. He currently works for Provincetown Water Department. \nTom will lead us around the Flax Pond Conservation Land to learn about plants that can be difficult to identify in the winter months. SUMMARY:Meet Your Local Farmer! (Not Enough Acres Farm Tabling at This!)
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the start of spring and support local agriculture at the “Meet Your Local Farmers” event on March 28\, 2026\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School (351 Pleasant Lake Ave.\, Harwich). Our very own Not Enough Acres Farm will be there talking about upcoming farm events with a spotlight on a natural dye series called Color as Conservation. Come see natural dyeing with our farm’s plant color in action! \n\n\n\nWe’ll be alongside 50 farms and farm-supporting organizations who will be on hand to answer questions and share their stories of the land. And farmers will be selling their unique products and foods\, so it’s a great opportunity to bring home some Cape-grown goodness. \nThe event\, which is free and open to the public\, is sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust (HCT) and the Orleans Farmers Market. \nPlus\, enjoy jazz tunes performed by Wayne Naus and the Art Ensemble of Cape Cod! \nCheck out the growing list of farms\, farmers & farm-supporting groups that will be featured at the “Meet Your Local Farmers” here. \n
