DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, July 10th\, 2-4pm at Run Pond in Dennis with Tom Walker! \nTom will lead us around Run Pond to learn about dragonflies and damselflies! We see them all the time\, but what do we actually know about them? Did you know that dragonflies are one of  the most efficient predators on earth\, with a 90 – 97 % success rate and have the finest vision in the insect world? \nCome learn more fun facts and see these incredible insects (not as good as they will see you!) \n*Binoculars or a camera with high magnification highly recommended as is sunscreen\, bug spray\, water and a hat. \n(Parking at Flax Pond Conservation Area) \n \nAbout Tom: \nTom Walker is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts\, Amherst with a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology. He spent several seasons surveying wildlife on the west coast for the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management prior to returning to New England. He has many natural history interests and has led walks and given presentations on lichens\, fungi\, bryophytes\, woody plants\, and dragonflies. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday\, July 27\, 2-3pm on Not Enough Acres FArm at DCLT headquarters with our creative summer art intern Serena Yu for an afternoon of crafting\, making\, snacking and great conversation. Create a decorative wind chime while connecting with others in our beautiful flower garden. \nSerena is an illustrator\, designer\, and all around nature-lover from Vancouver\, Canada\, currently studying Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. She is excited to contribute her passion for scientific and educational illustration to the DCLT as a creative fellow\, while learning from the DCLT community to inform creative assets for trail signage and marketing. Through this summer fellowship\, Serena hopes to expand her knowledge of New England ecology\, engage thoughtfully with local conservation practices\, and advocate for the intersection of art and science.  \nAll ages welcome!
