SUMMARY:Botanical Bundle Dyeing With Plants\, Flowers & Roots
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT! \nInterested in seeing how plants\, flowers and roots can make beautiful botanical marks on silk? Then come join our Outreach Coordinator\, Amy DuFault who is also a natural dyer and local fiber guru on Saturday\, September 5th\, 10am-12pm! Each participant will get 2 silk scarves and all the color choices one could wish for. \nWe’ll start with a quick presentation on botanical bundle dyeing for some design inspiration then take a walk to look at all the color around us just on the grounds of the DCLT! After a little foraging\, we’ll head back to the barn to create our own fabulous works of art. \nThe process of bundle dyeing is simple: placing flowers\, leaves\, roots and more on silk that is pre-mordanted and steaming the color in. Options include choosing a color palette\, covering the entire scarf with flowers\, being a minimalist or even embracing a rainbow of color. Your choice\, your creation. \nNo experience required\, ability to have fun is! \nRSVP here. \n📍 DCLT HQ 107 Sesuit Neck Rd. East Dennis\, 02641 \n📆 Saturday\, September 5th 10 AM – 12 PM \nThis is a free\, members-only event. To learn more about becoming a member\, click here.  \nSharon Stewart shares a result from last year’s event  \nBio: \nIn addition to being our Outreach Coordinator\, Amy DuFault is the Founder of the Southeastern New England Fibershed\, an organization that connects farmer to processor and designer to production\, connecting the dots of the supply chain to recreate and reinvigorate\, a once-thriving New England textile industry. \nShe is also a passionate advocate for Cape Cod’s water as the communications lead for Barnstable County’s Clean Water Center\, a space for technologists to do cutting edge work in wastewater.
