DESCRIPTION:Interested in seeing how plants\, flowers and roots can make beautiful botanical marks on silk? Then come join natural dyer and local fiber guru Amy DuFault for some exploration! Each participant will get 2 silk scarves and all the color choices one could wish for. \nWe’ll start with a quick presentation on botanical bundle dyeing for some design inspiration then take a walk to look at all the color around us just on the grounds of the DCLT! After a little foraging\, we’ll head back to the barn to create our own fabulous works of art. \nThe process of bundle dyeing is simple: placing flowers\, leaves\, roots and more on silk and steaming the color in. Options include choosing a color palette\, covering the entire scarf with flowers\, being a minimalist or even embracing a rainbow of color. She does all this while also being a passionate advocate for Cape Cod’s water as the communications lead for MASSTC\, a space for technologists to do cutting edge work in wastewater.
