Join us October 20th, 4-5:30pm as we participate in Write Out Cape Cod (Oct 11-25), a regional extension of the national Write Out initiative.

This year’s theme, Write Where We Stand, centers writing in the places outdoors that shape and sustain us.

(We’ll be offering two Write Outs over 2 weeks, one for adults on October 13th and the other for teens on October 20th.)

Come on over to Not Enough Acres Farm, and settle in for a little while to write.

We’ll gather at HQ for a warm welcome, a bit of encouragement, and a quick refresher on Write Out before drawing a writing prompt from a hat. Then we’ll wander off to find our own quiet corner, under the trees, beside the fire, wherever inspiration calls, and write for a while.

Bring your own chair or blanket and a notebook. After about half an hour, we’ll gather back together to share what we’ve written. Read if you’d like, listen if you’d rather, and enjoy the simple pleasure of words taking shape around us.

We’ll have tea or hot chocolate by the fire, too.

No pressure. No polished pages required. Just a little time in the company of other people who like to put words on paper while out in nature.

The 2026 launch of Write Out Cape Cod is the first regional collaboration of its kind, uniquely linking Cape Cod’s rich arts community and its protected natural environment. Championed by the Barnstable Land Trust and inspired by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s Creative Conversation Series, Write Out Cape Cod hopes to involve local educators, libraries, cultural organizations, community groups, parks, museums, artists, poets, songwriters, land trusts, conservation groups, town departments, and other partners throughout Cape Cod to get involved with this unique opportunity.
