The Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DCLT) is excited to announce the hiring of its first full-time Land Manager, David Fryxell.

A Dennis resident, David studied biology at the University of Connecticut, and earned a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of California-Santa Cruz. He is an outdoor enthusiast, with interests in natural and cultural history, boating, fishing, and backpacking.

David brings a host of program management and scientific skills to the management of DCLT lands. His experience in the region includes working as a seasonal Natural Resource Officer in Dennis, as a deckhand with Albatross Fishing in Sesuit Harbor, and as a farmhand with a cranberry operation in Marshfield. His experience has been both land and ocean based, including work with a fisheries-focused nonprofit, and he has mentored high school and college students. His research in coastal estuaries will be an asset to the outreach component of the Land Manager position.

“We are delighted to welcome David to our DCLT team,” said Julie Early, DCLT Executive Director. “He enjoys working in the outdoors, particularly along the coast, and loves Dennis – two important components of this job. Also, his marine science expertise will be key as we explore our role in coastal resiliency and in developing citizen science projects with our partners in Dennis and across Cape Cod.”

Please help us welcome Dave to the DCLT team.
