Chase Garden Creek at Simpkins Neck
Simpkins Neck Conservation Area is a town owned park a portion of which the Dennis Conservation Land Trust maintains through a conservation restriction. The path leading out to Simpkins Neck begins at the parking area at the Romiq-Jacquinet and Simpkins Neck Conservation Area trail head off New Boston Road. The trail is about 1.5 miles round trip and circles out to the Chase Garden Creek marsh. The wide trail curves through a pitch pine-oak forest with an open understory in some areas, and provides wide vistas of the Chase Garden Creek saltmarsh. See osprey overhead, view if you can, the Taylor-Bray Farm in Yarmouth, and across to the north side, you may see the Dennis Conservation Land Trust’s newest acquisition, the Tobey Woodlands. Bring your camera and binoculars and you won’t be disappointed! Plenty of opportunities to use both! Look north towards Chapin Beach and you will see the 200+ acres of marsh owned by the land trust, and the Aquaculture Research Center at point where the marsh meets Cape Cod Bay.
