Celebrating our 2025 Masse Scholarship Recipients
The Dennis Conservation Land Trust is thrilled to announce the recipients of this year’s Joseph W. Masse Environmental Scholarship: Hannah Thornton and Brodie Boulette, both graduating seniors from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Each has demonstrated a deep-rooted connection to the natural world and a commitment to a college career working to understand and protect the environment.
Hanna Thornton
Growing up surrounded by Cape Cod’s diverse landscapes, Hanna developed a profound appreciation for the natural world. Her high school years have been filled with environmentally focused classes like ecology, environmental science, and horticulture, which shaped her desire to give back to the ecosystems that shaped her childhood. A committed student and active member of her community, Hanna interned with DCLT, served as editor and chief photographer of the yearbook, and was recognized in multiple photography showcases. This fall, she will attend the University of New Hampshire to study Wildlife and Conservation Biology. We’re inspired by Hanna’s drive to create change and her unwavering commitment to protecting the planet.
Brodie Boulette
Brodie’s love for the outdoors is rooted in a childhood spent fishing, camping, and exploring ponds and parks across New England. That passion has led him to pursue a degree in Marine Science, Safety, and Environmental Protection at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he will begin this fall. Throughout his career, Brodie aims to address environmental challenges like water pollution and overfishing so that future generations can enjoy the same outdoor traditions that have deeply shaped his life.
Both Hanna and Brodie embody the spirit of the Masse Scholarship: a dedication to environmental stewardship, a strong commitment to positive change, and a desire to protect the natural beauty of Cape Cod and beyond. We are honored to support their journeys and look forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
