1/18/2024 – DCLT is hiring a Part-Time Outreach Coordinator
The Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DCLT) seeks a part-time Outreach Coordinator to assist the Executive Director with all aspects of DCLT’s outreach and communications to its members and the public. Founded in 1988, DCLT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit land conservation organization with the mission to permanently conserve iconic and environmentally sensitive lands and water across Dennis, Massachusetts, to benefit nature and community.
The Outreach Coordinator’s primary goal is to expand membership and improve DCLT’s engagement with members and the public, with an emphasis on donor relations, coordinating walks and talks, and managing communications. The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, and DCLT’s Communications, Membership, and Events Committees.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement strategies to increase membership, fundraising, and event participation, while working closely with the Executive Director and DCLT’s Committees
- Manage creation of newsletters, fundraising campaign materials, and event and program ads in print and via DCLT’s website (WordPress), social media (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Linktree), and email blasts (Constant Contact)
- Manage registration and communications for walks, talks, and other events
- Conduct donor research, build donor relations, and track donor communications while using customer relationship management software (DonorSnap)
- Provide administrative support for the Communications, Membership, and Events Committees, including sending meeting reminders, attending meetings, and writing minutes
- Handle related duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Positive and personable; experience in sales and/or nonprofit/public service a plus
- Strong writing, interpersonal communication, and organization skills
- Ability to independently learn, troubleshoot, and use computer software and online platforms
- Experience with photography, image processing, and design a plus
- Interest or experience in working with historically underrepresented groups a plus
- Established personal and professional network on the mid-Cape a plus
- Interest in conservation and the environment; understanding of environmental science / local natural history a plus
- Bachelor’s degree with a track record of sustained work experience
Compensation and Work Setting
This is a part-time, hourly position (roughly 20 hours per week), with occasional evening and weekend work. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The position is primarily in-person at DCLT’s office in East Dennis, with occasional local travel for tabling at events and attending DCLT’s walks, workshops, and annual events. The successful applicant should have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and must pass a Criminal Record Offender Information (CORI) check. DCLT is an equal opportunity employer.
