Come and join us for a birding adventure with naturalists MJ Foti and Dann Jung at Chapin Beach, September 25th at 8am.

Please join us for this exciting time of year when shorebird migration reaches full swing. We hope to see many species, along with sandpipers, Turnstones, terns and gulls, gathering and feeding in numbers with the first of the incoming tide. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Beach shoes or sandals are strongly recommended for stability and to protect feet on this somewhat rocky shoreline.

DIRECTIONS: From 6A, take New Boston Rd and then a slight right onto Beach Street. At the 3-way intersection, head straight down Taunton Avenue and turn left at the end onto Dr. Botero Rd. Follow this straight up as it becomes Chapin Beach Road which dead ends in the parking lot. Walk the flats on this secluded beach with nice views of Sandy Neck Lighthouse and Grays Beach boardwalk. We’ll be looking for at upwards of 8 species of shorebirds  during peak fall migration. A variety of gulls and terns will also be seen in good numbers. Rubber boots/waterproof shoes are recommended as we wade in ankle deep water on a rocky stretch of beach. High tide 11:08 AM.

Chapin Beach is located at 90 Chapin Beach Road, Dennis, MA 02638.
