Historic Cultural Respect Agreement with the NLC

On November 12, 2016, the Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DCLT) voted to create a partnership with the Native Land Conservancy, Inc. (NLC) that will provide NLC formal access to DCLT’s 250 acres of conservation lands in northwest Dennis. The Cultural Respect Access Agreement (CRAA) is intended to enable NLC a right of entry to the marsh and upland margins owned by the Dennis non-profit land trust along Chase Gar-den Creek. The CRAA is believed to be the first of its kind in the Eastern United States; it is modeled on similar easements in California between natives and non-native property owners for access to sacred sites.
