May 13, 2026- the Dennis Conservation Land Trust purchased Sesuet Farm, an iconic farm property on Sesuit Neck, from the family of Seth Crowell. The 4.35 acre property, the triangular parcel located at the intersection of Sesuit Neck Road and Old Town Lane in East Dennis, includes a farmhouse, barn, outbuildings and ancient stone walls. Approximately 3 acres of the land was already subject to a conservation restriction previously donated by the Crowell Family.
David Fryxell, Executive Director of the DCLT, expressed his thanks to the Crowell Family for agreeing to sell the property to the Trust and shared the Trust’s vision for the future of the property.
“We consider it both an honor and a responsibility to carry forward the Crowell family’s legacy of stewardship for Sesuet Farm in a manner that respects its history and character. We plan to maintain all 4.35 acres as open and scenic land and continue the property’s over 100-year history of active farming, expanding upon the Trust’s agricultural and ecological programs at Not Enough Acres Farm, located just across the street from Sesuet Farm.”

Fryxell also indicated that the Trust intends to preserve the existing structures to the greatest extent possible, honoring the farm’s history, maintaining its character and beauty and ensuring it continues to benefit the neighborhood.
“We also want to thank the many generous donors who contributed to the Trust, on short notice, to make this acquisition come together,” said Fryxell, adding that “this historic purchase represents a tremendous community effort.”
